2013 Best Of: SKINCARE

I've tried and tested new hair, make up and skincare products this year with only a handful making the final cut into my 'inner circle'. If you're a regular reader of duggydimples then you'll know my skin acts like it should belong to a pubescent teenager and is more often than not having a freak out. I'm still warding off the nasty blighters but these are the top dogs that I've discovered this year to help me in my bid to salvage my skin.

2013 was the year I finally waved goodbye to face wipes and hello to micellar waters, creamy cleansers and facial oils. In particular, Bioderma Sensibo H20 Solution, Elemis' Pro Radiance Cream Cleanser and Origin's Zero Oil Cleanser. I'll be keeping these three by my side for the foreseeable future. Another firm favourite (which I've just so happened to run out of, boo) is Trilogy's Rosehip Oil. Honourably referred to as 'my skin saviour' this oil helped to nourish my skin and reduce scarring. A definite repurchase.
The face mask of 2013 has to be Origin's Out of Trouble. A sulphur based mask that helps to calm the skin during freak outs and dry up any nasty blemishes. I often use this as an overnight spot treatment to help stop blemishes in their tracks.

There are two treatments in my stash that I'll most definitely be taking with me through to 2014. Mario Badescu's Buffering Lotion has been an absolute life changer product; it helps to stop those 'under the skin', cystic and often sore blemishes in their tracks without drying the skin out. & last but definitely not least, La Roche Posay's Effaclar Duo. I had very mixed feelings towards this product when I first tested it earlier this year but I've recently repurchased and I can happily say that it has been working wonders on my troublesome skin.
What were your top skin care finds this year?

  6. The Out of Trouble Mask from Origins sounds perfect for what I need right now. I'm pretty certain Effaclar Duo is causing me to break out, trying it for the second time and once again I'm suffering.

    1. The mask is brilliant! I always turn to it when my skin has taken a turn for the worst. I'm afraid effaclar duo might be doing the same for me.. I've recently started using it for the second time too and I've got one of the worst breakouts I've had in a while. My whole chin/jawline right up to my cheeks are suffering :( x
